FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
• What engine is best for micro sprint racing?
The best engine depends on class rules, budget, track conditions, and driver preference. The Suzuki GSX-R600 and Yamaha YZF-R6 are both proven platforms in micro sprint racing. Suzuki combinations are often known for strong drivability and broad power characteristics, while Yamaha combinations can provide strong upper RPM performance. The right choice depends on your needs.
• How often should engines be refreshed?
Refresh intervals vary based on build level, race conditions, maintenance habits, and total laps. A local weekly racer and a national-level team may have very different service needs. Routine maintenance and inspections help catch wear before it becomes a larger issue. Elite Engine Development builds maintenance schedules around each engine package.
• Do you dyno test?
Not every engine we build is dyno tested. Dyno testing each engine is optional and ultimately up to the customer. Customers are responsible for having their engine dyno tested and their fuel system properly tuned if they choose to do so. Our build methods and combinations are developed through countless dyno sessions, testing, and real-world evaluation on our own programs. That data and experience is then applied directly into the engines we build, allowing customers to benefit from proven development without requiring every engine to go through individual dyno testing.
• Suzuki or Yamaha?
Both are highly competitive platforms. Suzuki combinations are often favored for drivability and broad power delivery, while Yamaha combinations can provide aggressive upper RPM characteristics. Track size, driving style, rules, and setup all play a role in determining which platform may fit your program best.
